Ricardo Levins Morales has been making political poster art since his teens. For thirty years he worked as a core member of Northland Poster Collective, which he helped to found. He now works out of his own South Minneapolis studio, RLM Arts. Ricardo designs some of the covers for Palabrera and is also the author of a series of political essays, which you can download at his site.
Favianna Rodriguez is a brilliant, Oakland based printmaker and digital artist whose feisty, vivid images always make my heart expand. Hailed as "visionary" and "ubiquitous," Rodriguez is renown for her vibrant posters dealing with issues such as war, immigration, globalization, and social movements. Her recent, in-your-face series about the escalating war on women's sexuality and reproductive freedom fills me with delight.
